The Landscape
Just north of the historic Hanseatic city Deventer lies a beautiful green landscape with centuries-old country estates. The stately country houses on the estates are mostly surrounded by beautiful park forests in an English landscape style. From the dry sandy soils with forests, meadows and maize fields, the landscape flows quietly into a rugged river landscape. The dynamics of the river are clearly visible along the banks of the river IJssel. Willow forests, river dunes, flowery grasslands, gullies, creeks and shrubs form together with the winding river IJssel a robust and dynamic nature to enjoy.
